SO… WHAT’S A SUPPER CLUB?

By…Stephanie

I’ve been asked this question a lot lately.

What exactly is a supper club?

Technically, it’s people gathering around a table for dinner. But that feels like a pretty boring way to describe it. For me, The Fearless Table is probably the closest I can get to putting everything I love about life in one place.

Food. Design. Styling.

Hunting for beautiful things. Setting a table. Cooking. Flowers. Music. A really good cocktail and wine. And people. It gives me a reason to play. Before interiors, I spent years in the food world, styling food and props and obsessing over all the tiny things that probably no one else noticed. The plate. The linen. The light. The way something was served. Apparently, I never really stopped. I’ve collected dishes forever. Old ones. Weird ones. Beautiful ones. Things that absolutely do not match. My best friend has a serious love for true vintage, so between the two of us, there is always another plate that obviously needs to a new home.

I love setting up for a dinner party almost as much as the dinner itself. Maybe more. And here’s the funny part: once everyone sits down, I’m not necessarily the one who wants to do all the talking. I love listening. I love asking someone a question and hearing the story that comes after it. Where they’ve been. What they’re doing. What they’re obsessed with. What they believe. What they’ve changed their minds about. The best conversations are the ones that end up somewhere nobody planned.

That’s what I want The Fearless Table to be. Not networking. Not forced conversation. And definitely not a room full of people feeling like they have to be “social.”

Come with your best friend. Come alone. Talk all night. Listen all night. Just come ready to enjoy yourself.

Right now, our first dinner, ROOTED, looks like stacks of plates all over my house. Driving through Milton looking at farms. Meeting with a local grower to see what’s actually coming out of the ground and hopefully bringing some of it to our table. Planning the menu with some of the best chefs I know. The menu isn’t completely finished yet because I want the ingredients to lead. The wine will follow. And the flowers are currently living very loudly in my head—bold, full, a little strange and probably completely over the top.

Then we’ll add candles. Turn up the music. Open the wine. Serve the food / courses and put a small intimate room of interesting women around one very long table.

That’s my kind of supper club. Spread the word.
